Govt. inaugurates 230Km of roads at a cost of RD$600.0M

Villa Gonzalez.- Public Works minister Gonzalo Castillo on Sunday headed ribbon cutting for some 230 kilometers of the roads Santiago-Navarrete, Santiago-Licey , and from the town of Sabana Iglesia to the highland village of El Caimito, at a cost of RD$600.0 million.
In the keynote speech, Castillo said the 18-kilometer Santiago-Navarrete highway, which links the Cibao region to the Northwest and other north coast provinces, features 4 and 6 lanes, with all gutters and storm drains rebuilt..
He said the highway has new traffic signs, sidewalks, curbs, small rest areas and landscaping, “making it a beautiful and monumental road.”
