Dominican business climate spurs CEMEX to invest RD$315M+

Santo Domingo.- CEMEX Dominican Republic recently announced significant investments this year to strengthen its leadership position in the local market, resulting from its confidence in the country’s prevailing business climate.

It said it will invest more than RD$315 million on a new cement packaging and palletizing line at its San Pedro de Macoris plant, to boost capacity and meet demand estimates for the next five years.

CEMEX said it has recently made numerous improvements in one of the cement plant’s mills to increase production by more than 400,000 additional bags monthly and ensure continuous operation.

“As a company with high focus on its customers and to meet growing demand, the company has already began to receive some of the 50 mixer trucks which will join our wide fleet, representing an investment of 256.5 million pesos, to continues having the largest vehicle fleet operating in the Caribbean region,” the company said.

CEMEX said the it also plans to add as many as 50 new members this year to the project Construrama, the country’s biggest network of hardware stores, which currently has around 100 members.

“In social terms CEMEX is committed to the country’s development and aims to increase to 2,000 affiliates Patrimonio Today in 2015, which now number more than 1,700 people. They and their families have achieved a decent roof on the basis of savings, microcredit and constructive advice offered by specialists of the company.”

CEMEX added that it’s currently evolving and ready to seize the market’s opportunities, “so it focuses on developing the best construction solutions and meet society’s growing needs.”
