Medina authorizes US$27.0M to finish southern province’s aqueduct

Santo Domingo.- President Danilo Medina on Tuesday instructed disbursement of US$27.0 million to finish the aqueduct in Peravia province (south), announced senior officials after a National Palace meeting.

"We inform you that the President has allocated US$27 million to continue construction on the aqueduct of Peravia to be completed in the shortest possible time," said Budget director Luis Reyes.

For his part National Potable Water Institute (INAPA) director Alberto Holguin said the aqueduct’s total cost is US$136 million with US$109 million disbursed thus far. "By February 2016 the communities of Peravia will have the magnificent work that will provide water to the entire province."

Peravia province senator Wilton Guerrero was also present in the meeting with the President.
