Industries want wide debate for National Zoning Law

Santo Domingo.- Dominican Republic Industries Association (AIRD) vice president Circe Almánzar on Monday defended its proposed National Zoning Law, where she affirms various actors can participate to develop the regulatory framework.

She said she supports the National Business Council’s (Conep) request for Congress to halt the debates on the bill that would create the Land Management and Soil Use Law, approved by the Chamber of Deputies in a first roll call, to open a consultation process prior to final approval.

"This is an important bill that will affect the nation’s economic and social development in a decisive manner, which will facilitate or hinder the coexistence of legitimate aims of preserving natural and cultural resources with legitimate economic development goals. The search for ways to meet these objectives comprehensively should be in dialogue. The AIRD is willing to enter into this dialogue, " the business leader said.
