Nine new free zones invest RD156.1M, create 700+ jobs

Santo Domingo.- TheNational Free Zones Council (CNZFE) issued nine permits to install as many newfree zone companies that will create more than 700 jobs, Industry and Commerce MinisterJose Del Castillo announced in a meeting on Monday

He said the newcompanies, located in Santiago, Santo Domingo and San Cristobal, have invested aroundRD156.1 million, with expected total income of US$4.3 million.

“These companies showthe trust with investments and the success of the economic policy outlined by presidentDanilo Medina,” the official said.

Lantica-Pinewood studios

After meeting delCastillo toured the Lantica-Pinewood Studios in Juan Dolio, together with CNZFEexecutives.

During the tour LanticaMedia CEO Antonio Gennari said the film production facility is the region´s biggestin and impacts the country as a destination to shoot movies.
