North-central towns get a RD$335.5M aqueduct

Villa Trina, Dominican Republic.-President Danilo Medina on Tuesday inaugurated an aqueduct built by the nationalpotable water agency (Inapa), to benefit more than 8,000 residents of the townsJose Contreras, Arroyo Blanco, La Sabana, El Salitre, La Penda, La Cumbre, LaEncantada, Los Guayuyos and Jamao Afuera.

The work built at acost of RD$335.5 million in northern Espaillat province gets water from Jamao riverfeatures full filtration with a treatment plant that supplies 40 liters persecond.

It also features a concretetank which stores 132,000 gallons of water and a buffer tank of 132,000gallons, a 27.6-kilometer pressure pipe, distribution grid and 1,376 household hookups.
