Medina cuts ribbon on major housing project

Santo Domingo.- President Danilo Medina on Wednesday headedribbon cutting for the ambitious housing project, La Nueva Barquita, in Santo Domingo Este.

More than 1,300 families will call the one-million squaremeter site home, after being transferred from La Barquita slum on the Osamariver bank.

More than 4,000 people will benefit from the gated community, that includes shops, a school and a clinic.
