Works aim to make Santo Domingo-Santiago highway safer

Santo Domingo.- Public Works minister Gonzalo Castillo on Mondaysaid the Duarte highway is being worked on to provide greater road safety for motorists,with repairs of potholes and technical improvements at critical points alongthe major roadway.

Crews work on the Santo Domingo-Santiago span, on which theofficial stressed that they seek “less traumatic vehicular traffic for thosetraveling from the capital to any area of Cibao (north).”

In a statement, Castillo said the works also aim fordrivers to travel without inconvenience and safer, with better visibility to protectthe lives of those using the country’s through trunk roads.

"We’re making these supervisory tasks over PublicWorks, on instructions from the minister Gonzalo Castillo, conducted from SantoDomingo to the entrance of Santiago, so that vehicle traffic on this importantroad is less traumatic for thosetraveling from the capital to any area of ??the Cibao," reiterated theofficial.
