EU says the DR grows, strives to distribute wealth
A. Navarro speaks in the event.
Santo Domingo.- “There aren’t many countries that grow and strive to distribute the wealth as best as possible as Dominican Republic does,” said ambassador and European Union Mission leader, Alberto Navarro .
The diplomat, speaking in a ceremony to inaugurate UE headquarters, said the country grows positively and uses appropriate mechanisms to distribute wealth.
He stressed that the new facilities symbolize the excellent relations between the European Union and the Dominican Republic, as well as the commitment to strengthen cooperation.
“For the European Union, the Dominican Republic is a privileged partner with whom it shares values and interests.”
In the activity headed by president Danilo Medina, Navarro said DR-EU trade totals more than US$1.0 billion per year, led by banana exports, “which have been growing in recent years.”
Navarro added that aside from the Dominican Republic, the only other Spanish speaking country with privileged ties with the EU is Equatorial Guinea.
