Central Bank unveils RD$500 note with security features

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Central Bank on Wed. placed a commemorative denomination of RD$500.0 (worth US$10.41) to mark its 70th anniversary.
The bills, series 2017, are printed in ink that shifts from gold to green depending on its position, and “has a new security thread with a combination of three-dimensional optical effects in the form of circles,” said Central banker Hector Valdez Albizu, at the presentation.
“It’s the first time in the long history of our monetary symbol that a banknote has the institution’s logo, following the trend of other central banks in the world,” the official said
