Most fuel prices up over New Year

Santo Domingo.- Most fuel prices will go up by between RD$1.00 and RD$3.50 during the week of December 30th 2017 to January 5th 2018, according to the rates set by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Small and Medium-sized Businesses (Mipymes).

The greatest increase affects premium gasoline, at RD$223.30 per gallon, up RD$3.50, followed by regular at RD$209.20, and regular diesel, at RD$170.50 per gallon, the last two up RD$2.00.

Optimum diesel will cost RD$182.60, fuel oil RD$109.85 and Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) RD$117.30; these three are up RD$1.00 per gallon.

Aircraft fuel avtur remains at RD$132.90 per gallon, and kerosene at RD$159.30, both at the same level as last week. Natural Gas is still RD$28.97 per cubic meter, no change from last week.

The average exchange rate used to calculate the prices was RD$48.35 according to the Central Bank of the Dominican Republic.
