No black Friday flimflams, official warns

Santo Domingo.-  Consumer Rights (Pro Consumidor) director Anina Del Castillo on Thursday warned store owners to honor their offers on the Black Friday and holiday season shopping craze.

In a press conference, Del Castillo said consumers shouldn’t binge buy, because that can affect the budget and even generate unnecessary expense. “Therefore, the theme of this campaign is” If you need it, buy it, “in order to make a call not to buy what is not necessary”.

On the Black Friday and Christmas shopping jump, she also reminded all suppliers of their duties and responsibilities regarding compliance with the legal provisions of Consumer Protection Law 358-05.

“Both this Black Friday and Christmas that is approaching, the products and services that are marketed should have as much information as possible, so that consumers have better purchasing decisions, so we encourage retailers to follow the guidelines that establishes the regulations and Good Commercial Practices,” the official said.
