Biggest mill says it produced 500K+ tons of sugar

La Romana, Dominican Republic.- The Central Romana Corp. mill on Mon. announced a production of 352,116 short tons of sugar, after milling over 3 million short tons of cane in a harvest of around 180 days.

Central Romana also announced a production of more than 154,000 short tons of refined sugar, the largest producer in the country, with which it expects to meet the demand for the product in the national market.

It adds that it also produced 20.2 million gallons of molasses.

“Central Romana’s entire production process, from the agricultural area to the manufacturing in the mill, is certified in terms of social responsibility and environmental sustainability under the Proterra standard, which guarantees a seal of quality in sugar and its derivatives for the final consumer.”
