New wind park in NW will supply 351MW

Montecristi, Dominican Republic.- President Danilo Medina participated in the opening ceremony of the Wind Parks of the Caribbean (PECASA), which will contribute to diversify the energy supply of the Dominican Republic.

The park put into operation by the company Akuo Energy produces 351 megawatts of renewable energy added to the Integrated National Electrical System (SENI).

The Gov. said that by year end, the country will have 664 megawatts from wind parks, adding that 150,00 homes in Montecristi will have ecological electricity.”

“PECASA has a capacity of 50 MW and has twenty-five 2MW turbines. It will allow 150,000 homes in Montecristi province to receive ecological electricity.”
