Govt. to build parking lots nationwide

Santo Domingo.- The Govt. on Mon. announced Dominican Republic’s National Public Use Parking Plan (Parquéa RD) that will operate through a trust, to improve urban mobility and reduce traffic congestion, by raising the number of public parking lots nationwide.

Public Works minister, Gonzalo Castillo and State Bank Reservas administrator Simón Lizardo said the Plan specifies the construction, administration, operation and source of payment.

The officials didn’t provide any cost figures.

“The National Plan for Public Parking and the operation of the ParquéaT_RD trust will be in charge of the Ministry of Public Works, responsible for the construction, operation and maintenance of the public parking network of the Dominican Republic,” Castillo said.
