‘Firm’ Dominican Republic-China ties will strengthen
Santo Domingo.- Foreign minister, Miguel Vargas, on Tue. praised the firm ties between the Dominican Republic and China, while predicting that, in the short term, trade, tourism, cooperation and air routes will grow between both nations.
“We will continue to strive to ensure that the relationship is mutually beneficial, that it contributes to the development and improvement of the quality of life of our citizens,” said the official of the diplomatic ties established in May 1, 2018
Vargas stressed as a “transcendental” fact, president Danilo Medina’s state visit to China, the first of a Dominican president, in November 2018, and the signing of 18 bilateral agreements with his counterpart Xi Jinping.
