Fuel prices: These are the changes for this week

For the week of April 22 to 28, 2023, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Mipymes (MICM). provides that fuels will be marketed at the following prices:

Premium Gasoline will be sold at RD$293.60 per gallon, maintaining its price.
Regular Gasoline RD$, 274.50 per gallon maintains its price.
Regular Gasoil RD$, 221.60 per gallon, maintains its price.
Gasoil Óptimo RD$241.10 per gallon maintains its price.
Avtur RD$ 186.95 per gallon, drops RD$10.60.
Kerosene RD$, 338.10 per gallon, maintains its price.
Fuel Oíll #6 RD$192.11 per gallon maintains its price.
Fuel Oíll 1%S RD, $211.77 per gallon, maintains its price.
Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) RD$147.60 per gallon maintains its price.
Natural Gas RD$, 33.97 per m3, maintains its price.
The weekly average exchange rate is RD$54.85 from the Central Bank’s daily publications.

The vice minister of Internal Commerce, Ramón Pérez Fermín, informed this Friday that hydrocarbons would maintain their prices during the first quarter of April 22 to 28 this year, and the extraordinary subsidies to fuels amounted to 5 billion pesos.

“From the government of President Luis Abinader we have given a forceful response to the global price crisis, which can be evidenced in the stability of prices and the availability of fuel inventory throughout the national territory,” said the deputy minister.

He explained that this week, WTI trading closes per barrel ranged between US$79.16 as the minimum value and US$82.52 as the highest value quoted, representing a new upward trend following the production cut announcements by OPEC member countries.

“This week the extraordinary subsidy will be maintained to maintain the prices of all fuels without variation, for which RD$76.7 million will be allocated. With this week’s subsidy, the government has invested during the first quarter of 2023 more than RD$5 billion to keep prices frozen, in short, a great sacrifice to continue fighting high costs and contributes to the decrease of inflation and its effects on the price of the family basket in the country,” he added.
