Dominican leader’s support for statehood spurs Palestinian par’s visit (Correct)

Santo Domingo.- Palestinian leader Mahmud Abbas will address the National Assembly Friday as part of his push for support of his nation’s admission into the United Nations, Senate president Reinaldo Pared announced Wednesday.

The ruling party Senator for the National District stressed the importance of the Palestinian leader’s unprecedented visit, for which the lawmakers will attend Abbas’ address slated for 2pm Friday.

The Palestinian leader arrives in Dominican Republic today Friday on invitation by president Leonel Fernandez, one of Latin America’s most vocal leaders in the support of Palestinians’ right to Statehood in the last few years.
