PLD candidate criticizes the lack of job opportunities for youth

Santo Domingo.– Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) presidential candidate Danilo Medina condemned the lack of job opportunities young people have in the Dominican Republic, especially those seeking their first job.

When proclaimed as the Dominican Workers’ Party (PTD) candidate, Medina said 56% of young people do not get employment, including those with post graduate degrees.

"Seven to ten of those with post graduate degrees, here and abroad, do not get jobs, or they are asked to provide experience. But what ‘damn experience’ if they are looking for their first job!," he said emphatically.

He acknowledged that the country is producing significant human capital, but it is to benefit first worls nations due to the lack of opportunities here.
