Group locks school down to protest for education

Santo Domingo. – A group of Argentina elementary school students called “the Libertarios” have locked themselves to demand compliance with the Law that allocates 4% of the GDP for education, and repairs to the center’s construction.

The “Libertarios” affirm making the decision on their own, and have neither leader nor spokesman.

Meanwhile ex Dominican Teachers Association president Maria Teresa Cabrera distanced herself from the protest and notes that it isn’t organized by the Coalition for a Dignified Education and that it’s not they manner of protest.

National Police spokesman Máximo Báez said the agents look to peacefully control the demonstrators shuttered in the school, adding they should agree to a dialogue and not affect classes.
