Mild temperatures, scattered showers, high surf in north coast continue

SANTO DOMINGO. – The National Meteorology Office on Tuesday forecast that the North and Northeast coasts will continue under dangerous conditions from a low pressure system located in the North Atlantic, and advises small craft to remain in port.

It warned residents in low lying coastal zones of rising surge which could cuase floods and warns swimmers to take precautions in the beaches.

Onamet said the prevailing Northeast wind will continue to drag clouds and humidity to the territory, with scattered showers and thunderstorms for the next 24 to 36 hours, more frequent in the North, Northeast and Southeast regions and Central Mountains.

It added that temperatures will continue seasonably mild especially at night and early morning.
