The country a leader in press freedoms, Press group says

SANTO DOMINGO. – Inter-American Press Association (IAPA) president Milton Coleman affirmed Monday that Dominican Republic is one of the region’s countries which most respects freedom of the press.

He said IAPA, together with the presidents of the area different countries seek mechanisms to guarantee journalists’ security and the population in general.

Coleman revealed that statistics place Mexico as the s country with the most violations to freedom of the press in the region.

The IAPA president, who heads a high level IAPA delegation which will be in the country until tomorrow, will also meet with business leaders and civil society representatives, accompanied by Rafael Molina Morillo, ex president of that entity and Editor in chief of newspaper El Dia.
