Major parties still deadlocked over Electoral Board’s informatics chief

Santo Domingo. – The third meeting between the senior leaders of the country’s two major parties, PLD and PRD, to surmount the deadlock around the Central Electoral Board’s informatics center concluded Thursday without an agreement or even setting a date for new talks, further hindering the possibility of an accord.

In the meeting’s agenda the Secretary Generals of both parties, Reinaldo Pared and Orlando Jorge, were expected to raise their respective proposals from their organizations, but no details were provided or even the responses from each of the parts.

The deadlock stems from the PRD’s demand of the resignation of JCE informatics center director Franklin Frías on alleged bias, which the PLD opposes.
