Scattered showers, mild temperatures continue

SANTO DOMINGO.- The North, Northeast, Southeast and Central Mountains can expect scattered showers Thursday afternoon, the National Meteorology Office forecast today.

It said those conditions will continue until Friday, from the prevailing wind and high a pressure and low pressure systems located in the Atlantic Ocean.

It also forecasts that the surf along the Atlantic Coast will improve, but advises small craft to remain in port, as it expects waves as high as eight feet or higher.

Meteorology also warns residents in low lying coastal areas to be on the lookout for flooding, and swimmers against using the beaches.

It said the seasonably mild temperatures will continue in evening and morning hours for much of the weekend, while a low pressure system northeast of the Lesser Antilles will bring a slight increase in showers for the North, Northeast and East regions.
