Showers for most regions, mild temps continue

Santo Domingo.- The National Meteorology Office (Onamet) forecasts strong to moderate winds from the northeast, whose humidity will bring showers to all regions for several days, except the southwest.

It said a low pressure system will keep temperatures seasonably mild, from 10 to 29 degrees C, mostly in evening night and early morning hours.

As to marine conditions, Onamet forecasts that the higher than normal surge will continue along the Atlantic coast, but noted that the waves are expected to be lower in height than in the last few weeks.

It said small craft should remain in port along the Atlantic coast, where residents in low lying zones should be aware of possible coastal flooding. Small craft in Samaná bay shouldn’t venture out in to open waters, and those along Caribbean coast should remain near shore, on higher than normal waves.

Onamet also warns swimmers on rip currents in north coast beaches.
