Widely scattered showers, mild temps, rough surf

SANTO DOMINGO. – The frontal system has been weakening as it leaves the forecast area, while the cloudiness dragged by the prevailing northeast wind will unleash widely scattered showers today Wednesday.

The National Meteorology Office also forecasts gusts of for the North, Northeast, Southeast and the Central Mountains, while the prevailing northeast wind will maintain temperatures seasonably mild during the evening and morning hours.

It said conditions will begin to improve during the next the 24 to 36 hours.

Meanwhile higher than normal waves continue along the Atlantic Coast, for which small craft should remain in port and residents in low lying zones should be on the lookout for coastal flooding.

Small craft should not venture out of Samaná Bay, Meteorology warns, and those operating along the Caribbean coast should remain near shore.

It cautions swimmers of rip current in the beaches of all coasts.
