Another presidential candidate announced

Santo Domingo.– The Christian Democratic Union (UDC) on Sunday held the Delegates National Convention and its 4th Ordinary Congress, where the party’s new authorities were chosen and Luis Acosta Moreta "El Gallo" was proclaimed as the presidential candidate for the upcoming elections.

The congress also gave special powers to "El Gallo" to develop alliances and to choose his running mate. Delivering the keynote address, Acosta Moreta said the country’s wealth is so concentrated in a few hands that the levels of lawlessness and insecurity reflect a growing social exclusion.
