Widely scattered showers today, decreasing Friday

SANTO DOMINGO. – Starting Wednesday afternoon cloudiness will increase over several zones of the country, with widely scattered showers more frequent for the East and Northeast regions.

The National Meteorology Office (ONAMET) forecasts slight precipitation from prevailing east wind for the Caribbean coastal plain, and some and some parts of the Cibao Valley and Northeast, decreasing Friday.

It said the higher than normal surf along the Atlantic Coast continues to pose a danger for small craft, which should remain in port, and sail near shore along the Caribbean coast and in Samaná Bay.
