Judicial Branch retires 13 judges on age

SANTO DOMINGO.- Thirteen judges of the Appellate courts from five judicial departments were placed pensioned by the Judicial Branch Council Tuesday, after having reached the obligatory retirement age of 70.
Also placed on retirement were Judicial Career director Pablo Garrido, Financial director Nelson Lopez, among other senior officials, as of March 1.
The Council’s decision was approved Monday, in Resolution no. 1651-2007.
The retired judges had served in the National District, and in Santo Domingo, San Cristóbal, Barahona, La Vega and San Pedro provinces, and include Altagracia Norma Bautista, Gabriel Santos, José Ortiz de Windt, Sócrates Martínez Tavárez, César Peñaló Ozuna, César Adames Figueroa and Marino Alonzo, among others.
