Santo Domingo.- The National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) Thursday announced the deportation of an American citizen charged with stealing US$350,000 from a senior citizen in South Dakota, where he was declared a fugitive.
DNCD spokesman Roberto Lebrón said Kenneth Dale Thomason, 52, was handed over to US federal agents at Las Americas International Airport, to be escorted out of the country.
He said antinarcotics and Immigration agents had detained the US citizen in the northern city Santiago, on an arrest warrant issued against that person by a court in South Dakota.”
Lebron added that Thomason, who allegedly robbed the money in the middle of 2008, “was handed over to American officials and transferred him to South Dakota to face trial.”
