Political parties receive RD$1.12B for elections

Santo Domingo.– The Dominican Revolutionary Party (PRD), the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) and the Social Christian Reformist Party (PRSC) will receive RD$1.12B as part of the financial contribution provided by the Dominican government due to winning more than 5% of valid votes in the past 2010 congressional and municipal elections.

The three major political parties will each receive RD$374,189,333.33, while other 23 minor political parties will receive RD$280 MM due to wining less than 5% of the votes.

Excluded from the State economic contribution are the Unity and Progress Independent Movement (MIUP) and the Green Party of Democratic Unity (PVUD).
