Three of F. Agosto’s alleged hired killers sentenced to 30 years

Santo Domingo.– The National District 4th Collegiate Court late Friday issued its ruling against three suspects hired as hit men by Puerto Rican drug baron Jose Figueroa Agosto.

After a seven-month trial that included testimony from 75 witnesses, Jose Anibal Hidalgo Garcia (Molmo), Jose Miguel Rodriguez Almonte and Winston Antonio Rodriguez Tavarez (Fire) were sentenced to 30 years in prison.

Two other suspects, Gian Enrique Rojas Matos (Yan) and Ricardo Perez Mateo (Maceta), received 20 and 15 years in prison respectively. The other four suspects were found not guilty after judges cited insufficient evidence.

The nine men had been charged with various counts of homicide, illegal possession of weapons and conspiracy.
