CNN to co-host country’s first ever presidential candidates’ debate

Santo Domingo. – The president of the young business leaders grouped in the ANJE on Sunday announced an alliance with the Corripio Communications Group and CNN en Español to host the ANJE Presidential Debate 2012.

The business leader Manuel Diez Cabral said ANJE is conducting all the efforts required to stage Dominican Republic’s first ever presidential debate. “This fact without a doubt will mark an historical precedent of great contribution to the electoral cycle and the strengthening of the national democracy."

ANJE said a local moderator of the Corripio Communications Group and one designated by CNN en Español will co-host the activity.

Ruling PLD party candidate Danilo Medina, and Hipolito Mejia, of the opposition PRD party have confirmed their participation.
