Insight poll says Medina has 48.3%, to Mejia’s 41.2%

SANTO DOMINGO.- Ruling PLD party candidate Danilo Medina would win with 48.3% of the votes if the elections were today, against 41.2% for the opposition PRD party’s Hipólito Mejía, according to the pollster Insight.

The survey, conducted from March 5 to 9 asked 1,200 eligible voters nationwide found that the ticket of the minority opposition PRSC party, headed by Medina, would win 1.3% of the votes, while Guillermo Moreno, of AlianzaPais, would obtain 1.4%.

The survey found that 2.2% would vote for other candidates; 3.3% wouldn’t vote and 2.3% are undecided. The poll’s margin of error is 2.9%

Insight representative Luis Rojo said in its final projection the PLD will have a 7.2 point advantage over the PRD, and Medina would win with 49.8%, to 42.6% for the PRD.
