May 20 election test run went well, top official says

Santo Domingo.- The Electoral Central Board (JCE) and the political parties said they’re satisfied with the results of yesterday’s First National Electoral Tabulation Test but noted that some inconveniences will have to be corrected prior to the May 20 election.

JCE president Roberto Rosario, accompanied by the JCE’s other members, said representatives of the Organization of American States (OAS) and delegates of the opposition PRD, and of the pro government PRSC parties supervised the process. “This is the worst case scenario because everything is being transmitted simultaneously. Since the response has been good in the worse case, that shows that the test in general has provided the expected results."

He said the Test began 9am, as scheduled with simulated bulletin transmissions every 5 minutes nationwide and from abroad.
