Agents nab 20.8Ks of cocaine bound for Philadelphia

Santo Domingo.- The National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) seized a suitcase full of cocaine headed to the United States at Las Americas Airport (AILA), with at least three arrests, including two employees of a company which provides service in the luggage inspection area, and seeks six others.

The drug weighing 20.8 kilos was bound for Philadelphia aboard U.S. Airways flight 1068 in the baggage ticketed to Robert Cashman, DNCD spokesman Roberto Lebrón said in a statement. “The drug’s confiscation has led to the dismantling of an important international drug trafficking structure which resorted to internal contacts in AILA. That network had its operations center in the community of Boca Chica.”

Lebrón said the detainees Alvaro Arístides Francisco, Cheroque González and Wilfri Manuel Alvarez are members of network, for which the several “suspicious” businesses, Genesis Rent – a Car, Javi Rent – a Car, Star Rent – a Car and Casa de Cambio El Primo among them.
