Public Health confirms 6 deaths from cholera

Tamboril, Dominican Republic. – Public Health authorities have confirmed Monday that nine of the deaths with cholera symptoms six died from the disease and 523 people with suspected cases have been hospitalized in the entire municipality.

Five youngsters figured among the 19 admitted to the Jorge Armando Martinez municipal hospital yesterday, although the Public Health Ministry affirms that hospitalizations have fallen considerably.

In a statement, Public Health said there are still two patients in the anti-cholera unit at the Cabral y Baez regional hospital, in Santiago.
