Gallup: Ruling party to win Dominican presidential election with 50%(Update2)

Santo Domingo. – The latest and final Gallup-Hoy survey prior to Dominican Republic’s presidential elections on Many 20 found that ruling PLD party candidate Danilo Medina would win with 50.6% of the votes, to opposition PRD party candidate Hipolito Mejia’s 44.6%.

It said Mejia’s support has declined steadily from a high as 47.9% in August, and inversely Medina’s sustained increased during the same period soared from a low of 33.4%.

Among the minority parties, Al-Pais candidate Guillermo Moreno has 2%; Eduardo Estrella of the DxC has 1.4%, while Max Puig of the APD and Julián Serulle of the Frente Amplio have less than 1%.

Gallup-Hoy said the survey conducted from April 14 to 18 with eligible voters nationwide has a margin of error of 2.5%.

The poll found that 1.2% of the voters are still undecided.
