Hamilton poll: Medina 51%, Mejia 44%

Santo Domingo.- A survey disclosed Monday by Hamilton Campaigns found that Dominican Republic’s ruling PLD party presidential candidate Danilo Medina would win the May 20 elections with 51% of the votes over opposition PRD party rival Hipólito Mejia’s 44%.

The poll conducted from April 11 to 15 also said minority Al-Pais party candidate Guillermo Moreno and Eduardo Estrella of the DxC, would both get 1% each.

The Hamilton survey also found that of the 50% of the voters who approve president Leonel Fernandez’s job performance, 14% called it good and 36% excellent.

Hamilton Campaign president David Beattie, who announced the results in a press conference in the Holiday Inn hotel, said 1,200 eligible voters were interviewed in the nationwide poll, whose margin of error is 2.8%.
