Little-known pollsters find conflicting figures

Santo Domingo.- Three new surveys from relatively unknown pollsters were released today Friday, two of which show opposition PRD candidate Hipolito Mejia as the favorite to win the May 20 presidential election.

While the pollster Newlink Research found that ruling PLD party presidential candidate Danilo Medina would win the election in the first ballot with 52.3% of the votes, to Mejia’s 45%, the company Bendixen & Amandi say’s he’ll get 50%, to his rival’s 43.9%.

Yet another pollster, the Spanish CIS RD, said Mejía will beat Medina in the first ballot, 51.2% to 43.7%.
