Electoral Board Informatics officials banned from holding particular meetings

Santo Domingo.- Central Electoral Board (JCE) president Roberto Rosario banned the entity’s Informatics Center officials from holding private meetings, with the political party delegates alone.

Rosario issued instructions for the meetings take place at the same time with representatives from all parties, so the information is released provided simultaneously.

In a letter to opposition PRD party president Miguel Vargas, the official said Porfirio Lopez Nieto, Tomas Kelly and Robert Arias, delegates and advisers to PRD presidential candidate Hipolito Mejia, violated the measure by visiting the Informatics Center individually despite being notified, as it occurred on May 1.

“In a meeting with the plenary it was explained to them that the party’s delegates or representatives had tried to meet separatedly with the members of the JCE Informatics Center, and reiterated the information to them that the Board had instructed the members that any meeting or information had to be shared with the delegates of other political parties, never with one party individually,” the statement said.
