U.S. agents whisk off 2 Dominican brothers linked to NYC narcotics ring

SANTO DOMINGO.- Dominican authorities extradited two brothers natives of Moca to the United States today to face at least 12 drug trafficking charges in New York East District Court, together with other codefendants, the National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) said Monday.

Argely Moisés and Kelvin Antonio Bretón were escorted aboard a commercial flight at Las Americas International Airport (AILA), where they were handed over to US federal agents who traveled from New York to take over their custody.

DNCD spokesman Roberto Lebrón said US Police investigators gathered the evidence on the Bretons’ illicit activities from January 2001 to October 2007, on which the Supreme Court issued an arrest warrant in October last year.

He said the Bretóns’ ring operated in East New York and adjacent zones, and allegedly included Ricardo Almonte Bernabel, Jose Cruz Cruz, ‘El Socio’ and Jeremy García López, ‘El Gordo’ and/or JJ.

The two Dominicans extradited also went by the aliases ‘El Artista’ and ‘El Perrero’.
