The military and Police remain “in their barracks”

Santo Domingo.- Just hours after ex opposition PRD party candidate Hipolito Mejia announced a televised address to state his position on the official vote count in which he lost to ruling party rival Danilo Medina, members of the military and National Police have been surprisingly kept on alert.

On his Twitter account Police spokesman Maximo Baez said military and police personnel continue on call the second day after Sunday’s election, but didn’t specify the reason.

The military and the Police have been “in their barracks” since Friday.
