“For God’s sake stop the politicking,” Elections chief says

Santo Domingo.- Central Electoral Board (JCE) president Roberto Rosario yesterday reminded the political leaders and some organizations of civil society which played leading roles in the past elections that now that the campaigning is over, they should pause and put a halt to politicking, to pave the way for democratic governance. "The elections are over, if we haven’t noticed, the campaign must end.”

Rosario’s statement came in the ceremony to officially certify Danilo Medina and Margarita Cedeño as winners of the presidency and vice presidency, as well as the seven Overseas deputies.

"We hope that all stakeholders in the election process and some civil society organizations to pause, stop the politicking: For God’s sake pave the way toward democratic governance."
