Senator’s son killed in robbery

Santo Domingo.- Unknown assailants shot dead 34-year old AlexanderGarcía, son of the PRD senator for María TrinidadSánchez, Salomón García, during a robbery on Wednesday at a store in the Brisasdel Eden area of Santo Domingo East. An employee was injured in the attack.

The victim died while being taken to the hospital. Local residents said that three men arrived on a motorbike and entered Casa Julito, thestore where García worked as an administrator, posing as customers.

According to reports, the victim had a firearm and thethieves tried to take it off him. García is said to have resisted and the assailantsshot him before escaping on their motorbike. The employee, Edward Araujo Caminero, is being treated at the Darío Contreras Hospital.

The police have arrested two men in connection with the incident, named as Félix David Ramón Suero “Espejo” and Javier Tavarez Collado “Papachungo”. they are on the trail of five other suspects, known as Michael, Jonathan, El Policía, Felo and Pan Quemao
