Downpours cause power outtages

SANTO DOMINGO. – The relentless downpours during the last 24 hours have damaged around 27 power line circuites, the South Eneergy distribuitor ( EDESUR) reports.

The electricity distributor said the failures in distribution networks of various sectors of the National District, Santo Domingo province and communities of Azua, San Juan, San Cristóbal and Peravia have left many regions without the service. "Some 27 distribution circuits have presented failures caused by the recent rains and other circuits have been partially taken offline in South Region communities."

EDESUR said the failures have also affected 24-hour circuits, in the Santo Domingo metropolitan area and the interior.
