Fernandez, Medina mull issues in the Palace

SANTO DOMINGO. – For more than one hour president Leonel Fernandez and the president elect Danilo Medina discussed the country’s challenges ahead when the latter takes office August 16, in the National Palace Tuesday afternoon.

After the luncheon hosted by Fernandez, he told the media it was a pleasant and friendly dialogue."We received the President elect with great appreciation. We shared views on Dominican Republic’s economic, social and political situation.”

Though reporters expected ??to ask Medina questions, the conference came to an end.

The meeting was also attended by vice president elect and First Lady Margarita Cedeño, Medina’s wife Candy, and the ministers of the Presidency, Cesar Pina, of the Economy Temistocles Montas and Executive Branch legal adviser Abel Rodriguez.
