Utility: Central water mains fixed, flow resumes Tuesday

Santo Domingo.- The work by Santo Domingo’s water utility (CAASD) to replace a section of 42-inch valves in the intersection of 27 de Febrero with Lincoln avenues is expected to conclude today and after a pressure test, the supply can return to normal.

The CAASD concluded its work on the water main at 27 de Febrero with Tiradentes Sunday night, spokesman Valentin Sanchez affirmed Monday morning.

In a statement the utility said starting Tuesday water could be restored to around 33 Greater Santo Domingo neighborhoods which haven’t had the service since last Friday.

Miraflores, San Juan Bosco, Plaza de la Cultura, Respaldo Aguedita, Gazcue, Ensanche Lugo, La Primavera, Ciudad Nueva, San Carlos, Villa Francisca, Borojol, Atarazana, San Miguel, la Zona Colonial, Santa Bárbara, San Antón, El Huacal, El Palacio de la Policía Nacional, Oficinas Gubernamentales, el hospital Padre Billini and El Vergel have been affected.

Also Los Prados, Ensanche Paraíso, Naco, La Esperilla, Serrallés, Las Praderas, Bella Vista, La Castellana, Ciudad Moderna, Lópe de Vega, Yolanda Morales and Carmelita.
