Magnitude 4.2 tremor shakes the Dominican capital

Santo Domingo.- A magnitude 4.2 tremor was felt Wednesday morning in the Dominican capital, Santo Domingo and other eastern provinces, with no damages reported.

According to the Santo Domingo State University’s (UASD) Seismology Institute, the quake’s epicenter was 24 kilometers northwest of the town of Hato Mayor and 24 northwest of the eastern city of San Pedro.

According to the US Geodetic Survey, the tremor occurred at 5:11am Wednesday morning, and just three days after a 5.1 quake in southwestern Barahona province.
