Napolitano, Dominican officials meet, Predator plane pact expected

Santo Domingo.- National security officials are meeting with US Homeland Security secretary Janet Napolitano at the US Embassy behind closed doors, with no access for journalists.

Among the participants figure Foreign minister Carlos Morales, Police chief Jose Polanco, US ambassador Raul Izaguirre, the Metropolitan Transit Authority director Joseph Sanz Jiminian and Armed Forces minister Joaquin Virgilio Perez.

The US official arrived to the embassy shortly before 10am, when it immediately began.

Various news outlets have reported that Napolitano will represent Washington to sign an agreement with the Dominican Government to utilize Predator unmanned planes in the joint war on drug trafficking.
